Pecard’s Leather Boot & Shoe Care Oil contains the same ingredients as our Leather Dressing but is formulated to create a liquid instead of a paste. The absorption time is significantly faster, so it is perfect for quick touch-ups on leather that needs to be used again soon.

This conditioner preserves and protect the leather from weather damage while still allowing it to breathe. It restores dried out leather to its natural softness and flexibility. This oil darkens lighter color leather, so if this is a concern, please see our Classic Leather Dressing. Not recommended for Suede or NuBuck leather (use our NuBuck and Suede Spray instead).

Apply the oil onto a sponge or cloth and swipe across the leather. This will result in a more even application. Never pour the oil directly on the leather to prevent the risk of leaving spots and prolong drying time. Allow 12 hours or overnight for the oil to be absorbed into the leather. Wipe off excess with a soft cloth and reapply as needed.

Please make sure the item is oil tanned and not coated leather. This dressing will not penetrate coated leather.

Using a clean, soft cloth or your fingers, apply the dressing in light coats. Allow 12 to 24 hours for the dressing to be absorbed into the leather. Apply additional treatments in the same manner until a thin layer of dressing remains on the surface.

Each treatment allows fibers in the leather to become stronger, softer and more flexible. If leather is extremely dry and stiff, extra care should be taking to not bend or over-handle the leather until after a treatment or two when the leather is more flexible. This will help prevent cracking or damage.

Due to the density of the dressing, leather cannot over absorb the conditioner. Dressing may also be applied to the unfinished side if it’s accessible. We recommend only one light application to the unfinished side, and that you be aware any nap that is present will be matted down.

Remove any excess dressing with a dry, soft cloth and gently buff the surface to a soft sheen. This buffing action melts the blend of waxes on the topmost fibers and helps repel water and dust. Apply follow-up treatments two to four times per year or as needed to maintain proper protection and lubricity of the leather.
